A NOTE FROM THE TECHNIKA TEAM
We live in a throw-away society. We are trained to be wasteful consumers – buy, briefly use, throw away, and repeat the cycle. This creates tremendous waste.
At Technika we believe in quality over quantity, and we are focused on recommending only the very best products. We genuinely want people to buy products of better quality that will last longer, and we will never recommend anything we would not use ourselves.
If you choose to buy the products we recommend, our work is sometimes (but not always) supported through an affiliate commission from the retailer when you make a purchase. Running Technika is time consuming, and if you return your purchase because our recommendation was bad, we make nothing. We spend hundreds of hours every week curating products, and there is no incentive for us to recommend inferior products. We are 100% committed to serving consumers like you first.

How is Technika different from “best products” or “top products” websites?
While many “best products” or “top products” websites often recommend average or “good enough” products for “most people,” we do not. Every day, we update our buying guides for those that appreciate the very best quality products. Also, at Technika we do not use algorithms or some “magical” AI to recommend or score products, and we never feature anything we would not use ourselves.
What is included in a typical Technika buying guide?
Our buying guides may consist of 3 parts:
- Our Top Recommendations
- Bestsellers on Amazon
- New Releases on Amazon
In general, in a single guide we may recommend anywhere from two to fifteen expert-curated products, then we leave it to you to narrow it down to the one that best fits your needs, and you think you will be happy with.
In addition to our top recommendations, in some buying guides we may also feature up to top five bestsellers, and up to five new releases on Amazon in the same category. Please note that due to many different factors we take into consideration when selecting and recommending products, our top recommendations may be different from bestsellers and new releases on Amazon.
How do you find the products you recommend?
We live and breathe technology. Every day we read a lot of technology related literature from the most reputable sources on the web (see our favorite ones here), and we closely follow the latest tech news and product launches. In addition, we chat with manufacturers, retailers, industry insiders, attend tech shows, and visit countless stores in New York City and around the world to try out and play with new products. Also, we talk to many people like you about products they personally use.
What do you look for in a product you decide to recommend?
Decision to recommend a certain product comes down to many different factors. We deeply care about product quality and design, innovation, usefulness, how the product works, but sometimes also how the product makes us feel. If there is a story to tell, we also love a good story behind a product.
Do you review, rate or otherwise score products?
No, and the reason is simple.
Most products we feature are already well reviewed by experts as well as users on shopping sites like Amazon. We do not find it necessary or helpful to review, rate or score products. Rather we sift through all the noise to make it easier for you to find the most outstanding and well-designed products. See the question above about what we look for in products we recommend.
Do you only recommend tech products?
While we mostly focus on tech products, we may also feature quality products in other categories as well.
Why do you mostly link to Amazon for purchasing featured products?
We really think that shopping on Amazon is the best way to shop online. They have excellent prices, fast shipping, amazing customer support, and when you find something you love it is super easy to buy.
